⚫ Why Soilless Farming Rocks
1. Space Saver: Ideal for tight spots and vertical setups.
2. Water Wise: Uses 90% less water than traditional soil gardening.
3. Speedy Growth: Plants grows faster with direct nutrient access.
4. Fewer Pests: Say goodbye to soil-borne bugs and diseases.
⚫ Choosing Your Soilless Farming setup Hero
1. Deep Water Culture (DWC): Plants float in a nutrient-rich bath with an air pump for oxygen.
2. Nutrient Film Technique (NFT): A constant thin film of nutrients flows over roots.
3. Ebb and Flow (Flood and Drain): Grow bed floods with nutrients, then drains.
*This style very good for preparing Seedlings.
4. Drip System: Nutrients drip directly onto plant roots.
This is my style where we use Soilless substrate, which has a good water holding capacity and can be used wisely to grow the plants. The best part of this style is we give fresh water to our plants every day almost 6-10 times on regular intervals only if our plants need it. Otherwise we don’t give it. The oxygen level can be easily maintained on the roots by using perlite and vermiculite in our Soilless substrate.
⚫ Setting Up Your Soilless Farming Haven
1. Pick Your System: Choose based on your space and plant types.
2. Gather Essentials: Get a grow tray for seedlings, nutrient solution, water pump, and avoid grow lights to reduce the cost. So try places which has sufficient natural sunlight available
3. Assemble & Prep: Set up your system, mix nutrients, and check pH, EC TDS levels, as per the crop requirement.
4. Plant Time: Add your seeds or seedlings to the system on the right time that is early in the morning
⚫ Tips for Thriving Plants
1. Nutrient Check: Regularly monitor nutrient levels for pH, TDS, EC and pH.
2. Routine Care: Look out for nutrient issues and keep your system clean.
